Wonderful half century by Jason Roy, Lahore Qalandars unlocked their victory account in second edition of Pakistan Super League with a confidence-boosting win of six wickets against Islamabad United in Dubai on Saturday.

Jason Roy did 60 off 51 and helped Lahore Qalandars reach the target of 159 runs with 10 balls to spare.

Roy was well supported by Umar Akmal who scored 35 off 26 deliveries with the help of two sixes and three boundaries. Both Akmal and Roy added 71 runs for the third wicket.

Captain Brendon McCullum scored 25 off 10 deliveries while Sunil Narine scored 26 runs to help Qalandars reached the target in 18.2 overs.

Earlier, following a brilliant half century by skipper Misbah ul Haq, Islamabad United set a target of 159 for Lahore Qalandars in the 4th match of Pakistan Super League.

Elliott earlier bowled out Dwayne Smith and Sam Billings after the two fired Utd to a rapid start, belting out shots across the stadium.

The former New Zealand all-rounder then had Brad Haddin out for 9 and Watson out for 7. Sunil Narine discharged Asif Ali, leaving United five down at 118.

Misbah smashed five sixes and three fours for his 37 ball 61, which lifted Islamabad’s score to 158 for 7 in 20 overs. Misbah’s daring innings helped United score 56 runs in last five overs.
